Tom Bruijnen and his son Teun Bruijnen want to help others by sharing this method. They are Dutch, both born and raised in Amsterdam.
Tom
Bruijnen was born in 1962 and has done sports from a young age, he started with football and judo and discovered strength training along the way. After changing his studies from construction to biomechanics he took a greater interest in powerlifting and weightlifting. During the 80s and 90s, it was not easy to find a weightlifting coach/trainer in the Netherlands! Tom searched hidden parts of university libraries to read up on weightlifting styles, methods and training programs. After finishing his studies he has worked with many different teams and agencies among which; ROC, USC, Korps Mariniers, Brandweer and National Strength & Fitness federation / Weighlifting association.
He has created and given multiple courses for trainers and athletes in the Netherlands. After opening his own gym in Amsterdam, he has – apart from his own national weightlifting titles and records – helped dozens of athletes to achieve national titles and to perform on international tournaments.
Teun
Bruijnen was born in 1996 and introduced to weightlifting at a young age, indeed the son of Tom. While training with Tom he has competed at multiple European championships, has won over 15 national titles and as of 2020 holds 6 national records (after breaking his own) and national standards. He started to teach weightlifting to others from the age of 17 and currently runs his own online coaching business.
