Exercise 1#3 Overhead Squat


Keeping the bar in a wide overhead position and start to squat down and up
The end position of WAC1#2 (Back Elbow Press), marks the beginning of the overhead squat
  • remember your assesment in the introduction to keep your alignment, adjusting depth and stance
  • pull the bar apart, keep the shoulders down
  • breath half of your maximum volume in
    • start to squat down in a controlled speed
    • slowly come to a stop and
    • recover and breath out near the top
  • sometimes you can add a complete breathing cycle – in and out – at the bottom position and hold for a few seconds
    • maintaining your back and shoulders, but…
    • maybe adding a little more depth
